Resource Crates are portable supply containers that can be acquired from the Merchant Alliance as part of a Trade Good Commission, or found on Islands at random. They are initially found empty, but can store up to 50 of their corresponding resource and then sold to the Merchant Alliance in exchange for Gold and Reputation. The payout for the Resource Crate is roughly ten times higher if that crate was commissioned in a Quest for Trade Goods.
Quests concerning resource crates are only issued from Messages in Bottles, and the merchant can lend only a single provision of empty crates. Players have frequently acknowledged that the reward for these crates is not worth the effort, and Pirates are better off using them as portable storage for their resources.
