The Skeleton Captain's Chest is a type of Treasure Chest in Sea of Thieves. Treasure Chests are locked with locks that can only be opened by Skeleton Keys held by Gold Hoarders on every Outpost. They are willing to buy these Chests for a fraction of their worth. Skeleton Captain's Chests are one of the two Skeleton Chests, mainly acquired through dangerous Encounters on the Seas.

- High chance to find inside Emergent Skeleton Ships
- 8 Guaranteed for defeating a Skeleton Captain Ship during the final wave of a Skeleton Fleet
- Possible reward for defeating a Kraken tentacle
- High chance reward for defeating a Megalodon

- All Treasure Chests emit a White Glint from a distance.

- Even though the chest Appears Barnacled, Selling it to the Gold Hoarders Does not Contribute to the Hoarder of Barnacled Gold Commendation Commendation.
