Portuguese translation[edit source]

Hello everyone, I love the game sea of thieves and i want to play it as soon as possible, but i want to help to translate this wiki to portuguese language, but i don't know how to edit the files and text to my native language. if someone can help me to make this possible, I and brasilians players will gonna be happy at all —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gabroizgamer (talk • contribs) at 16:30, 3 February 2018‎ (UTC).

Random pages[edit source]

When I click on Random page in the sidebar, there is a what feels like 1/3rd chance to land on a French page. Is it possible for me to shortcut to a random English page on the wiki? --DaniDipp (talk) 22:34, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Unfortunately there's currently no way to limit the random page to English pages only. Sorry! Equazcion (talk)

Variant pages[edit source]

Should the aesthetic variants of tools and weapons have their own pages? It seems rather unnecessary, as the info on the variant pages could easily be put on the pages of the standard items, as there is very little info on the variant pages. Wilderscott1 (talk) 23:30, 6 March 2018 (UTC)

True, I feel like collecting the information of all variants of shovels on one page would provide a better overview and make it easier to compare them. --DaniDipp (talk) 23:33, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
I had the same thought, but SEO (search engine optimization) is one of the priorities here. Generally, separate pages tend to work better for when newer players google specific item names, and don't realize the similarities. A page with a title that matches the searched term exactly will more likely come up first, as opposed to an item name that rests in the content of a page with a different title (if that makes sense). We can still list on one page the traits players are likely to want to compare, such as price; but that's not really so useful for something like the in-game descriptions, which can stay on the individual version pages. Oh, thank you for the insight. That's really interesting 👍--DaniDipp (talk) 23:41, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
What if the pages were just redircets? They google admiral spyglass, click on the gampedia page, and are taken to the spyglass page? Is that how it works? Wilderscott1 (talk) 23:49, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
That doesn't solve the issue. Redirects don't really do well on Google, and pages with content will always show up first. Equazcion (talk)
I've done some thinking on it, and I feel confident that anyone who googles 'shipwrecked castaway's chest' will still click on 'castaway's chest'. In addition, clothing and equipment can definitely go on one page, as no one is actually going to look up 'scurvy bilge rat jacket', they probably would just look up 'clothing' —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wilderscott1 (talk • contribs) at 20:43, 14 March 2018 (UTC).

Organization[edit source]

I think I've found an ideal way to organize the main page categories mechanics and commissary and travel, along with some important pages. Unfortunately, I could not sort out how to format it properly on the wiki, so here is a link to a google docs.

I think we should delete the items page. Its way too general and oversized, because items is so unspecific. The items page used to be more like equipment, but now it has practically everything in the game. Thoughts? Wilderscott1 (talk) 15:33, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
